Pictures from Monday

She realized I was about to change her and she wasn't thrilled. (We didn't get any of her first running to me or meeting Evan.)

It hit her that she was LEAVING. This is her favorite caregiver/teacher. She called him Niko-Mama or Niko-Dati or Mama-Dati or some combination.

This is the first picture we have of Annie with Daddy.

She wasn't even thrilled to have Evan anywhere near her at this point.

This little girl came and gave Annie a coloring, I think she had made it for her. The kids had already filed through and said goodbye. The group was mixed different groupas and most were not the kids I remembered from Annie's groupa.

This was after she had woken up from her brief nap. She was very serious most of Monday when she wasn't upset.

She has gotten very attached to this drinking glass. Lol.

Here is a half smile. I can't remember what I did, but I had to work hard.

There's more of a smile. :)

I'm not sure if you can tell, but she is smiling behind her glass.

She does not drink very neatly. Lol. She dribbles a lot. In her defense, she has a scar that looks like her lip was literally cut in two and she may not have full feeling in her lip. I got a bite on my forefinger when I was 18 and have never regained full feeling in that finger.

Haha, I knew she'd stick her tongue out at some point.

See how she is leaning on his leg? If I tried to touch her or hug her, she immediately clung to him. It wasn't until today that Evan realized she is calling him both Dati and Niko-Dati. We aren't sure yet if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but we just gently remind her that he is Dati, not Niko-Dati. (Not sure how to spell Dati.)

She really isn't too sure about me taking her picture. As far as she is concerned, I am the one who is trying to take her from her Dati.

This is how she looked most of the day on Monday, serious and a little sad.

You can see she looks tired, but she refused to nap. She did not nap today, either, no matter what we did.

I'm so glad that she has been much happier today. She still greatly prefers Evan over me, but we are trying to have her spend as much time holding each of our hands, being held by both of us, etc. She hasn't had a meltdown like she did when we left the hospital. She did cry a bit when we tried to get her to nap. I'll admit, yesterday we were both a little scared of her and neither of us wanted her to break down like that again. She didn't seem to NEED a nap today, so when she started to cry, we chose not to push it because she will probably not nap at home. We were only trying to keep to her schedule for now. Today was such a great day, even with her pushing me away a little, that I fear that we are in a honeymoon phase. We'll see and God will get us through whatever may come! ;)

Both of my children adopted from China WAY preferred their Daddy over me until we got home and he had to go back to work!
Now the tables have turned! And my hubby spends a TON of time at Huachuca...will spend half the summer there AGAIN this summer...we never travel with him as it is WAY TOO FAR!
Would sure love to meet you and your treasures though!!
Blessings,
Holly
